In order to participate in the activities relating to exploration for Oil and Gas in the country the Group has established this company NGHSL ( a concern of Ahmed Amin Group).

In the past, the petroleum exploration and production in Bangladesh was carried out by the Government- owned corporation, Petrobangla and its companies but in practice, it was very much dependent on foreign technology and foreign assistance. Under the Petroleum Act of 1974, the Government started to offer acreage blocks to foreign oil companies for petroleum exploration in order to introduce state of the art technology covering both upstream and downstream activities and to assist the economic growth by discovering more hydrocarbon so as to ensure long term energy security.

The liberalization process initiated by the Government has encouraged the international oil companies to participate in E & P activities to augment hydrocarbon reserve base. Keeping this scenario in view, the NGHSL, thus created in 2003, as the first private company in oil and gas sector in Bangladesh to help the E & P companies in providing all types of technical and managerial support services employing inhouse and foreign expertise as well as offering advice on how best to exploit gas resources for the benefit of the country. The NGHSL is staffed with a group of experienced executives and technocrats who have decades of experience in energy sector and had made major contributions towards the initial growth of Petrobangla by discovering oil and gas and strengthening several disciplines of geosciences for basin evaluation and prospect generations employing geophysics and geochemistry followed by successful exploration drilling with commercial discoveries.

The mission of this newly established company is to assist E & P companies to find more oil and gas in the sedimentary basins including Continental shelf and Hingezone. NGHSL is always to remain the first choice of our customers to continually providing a range of superior products and services covering all upstream and downstream petroleum activities. The NGHSL is dedicated to the promotion of excellence in petroleum exploration and exploitation and to bring knowledge to life and help to accelerate the pace of economic development of the country.
